CWC DEAL SCORE

Is it actually a good deal?

A sale price doesn’t mean much by itself. We look at what the watch has actually been selling for, where today’s price sits, and how much history we have.

Price context, not crossed-out marketing.

Checking a current price history.

CWC is resolving a real current watch example for this page.

A crossed-out price isn’t enough.

Marketplace discounts can make almost anything look like a bargain. We care more about what the watch has actually been selling for.

Today

What does it cost right now?

The current qualifying watch price CWC can observe.

Typical

What does this watch usually cost?

A normal-price reference built from qualified tracked history when there is enough of it.

Tracked Low

How low have we actually seen it?

The lowest qualified price in the history CWC has tracked.

Price History

Where has the price actually been?

One price on one day doesn’t tell the whole story.

Confidence

How much do we actually know?

More tracked history usually gives a score stronger context.

NEWLY TRACKED

Sometimes we just don’t know yet.

When we haven’t tracked a watch long enough to understand its normal price, we’d rather say that than pretend we know more than we do.

New watches appear here when CWC is still building their price history.

THE CURRENT RULES

Score first. Verdict second.

Deal Score summarizes the price evidence. The Buy / Wait verdict then applies CWC’s additional buyer-safety conditions to that evidence. A score number alone is not a promise to buy.

1. Score

How interesting is today’s price?

The 0–100 score is a price-interest signal, not a grade for the watch.

2. Verdict

Is there enough of a real drop?

Buy needs both a qualifying score and a real reduction from Typical. Otherwise, CWC says Wait.

3. Confidence

How much do we know?

Confidence is evidence maturity, not another generic weighted percentage. Young histories are intentionally safeguarded.

Show the details

The score starts at 60. Today versus qualified Typical can move it from −40 to +40; historical position and trend can each move it from −5 to +5.

Buy requires 70+ with at least 8% below Typical, 80+ with at least 15%, or 90+ with at least 25%. Buyer-safe display caps young histories at 60 through 2 days, 85 through 6 days, and 95 through 29 days.

With no meaningful temporal change or a newly discovered cheaper source, the score stays neutral at 60 rather than calling discovery a price drop.

THE FINE PRINT, WITHOUT THE FINE PRINT

Watch prices get weird.

Different sellers, temporary sales, coupons, variants, newly discovered listings, and thin observations can all move a price around. CWC tries to use qualified evidence instead of believing every dramatic discount graphic.

Deal Score is about the price, not the watch.

A watch can have a strong Deal Score and still not be the right watch for you. A watch can be great even if today’s price is not especially compelling. The score is price context, not personal taste or watch quality.

HOW IT IS BUILT

Because “40% off” doesn’t tell us much.

CWC likes affordable watches. We just think watch people deserve a little more context before deciding whether something is worth grabbing now.

Typical relationship

−40 to +40

Today versus the qualified Typical price.

Caps

Short histories are capped; confidence stays visible.

Source guard

Neutral

A newly found cheaper seller is not treated as a price drop.

The score shouldn’t care where you buy it.
